Our Team
ITS is a guaranteed introducing broker owned by Peter Georgantones and Timothy J. Roth. (pictured at left). Our fundamental backgrounds, combined with a host of technical tools at our disposal, guarantees our clients a more diversified approach to markets and futures trading. Our core group of brokers, located at our corporate headquarters in Bloomington, Minnesota, have a combined 50+ years experience in the futures industry. Peter Georgantones I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1984 and became a commodity broker the following year. Originally, I became interested in trading commodities when I was in high school and was closely following the explosive gold and silver markets of the late 70’s. I initiated my first commodity trade while in my freshman year in college and instantly fell in love with the business. The trade was in the Japanese Yen and was quite successful. The idea of being able to parlay relatively small amounts of capital into large profits, by analyzing world weather patterns, world politics, and world demand became an exciting challenge for me. Trading commodities myself for several years has given me a wealth of experience and has greatly assisted me in dealing with my present base of clients. Experiencing both the euphoria of a good trade and the frustrations of a poor trade allow me to truly understand the needs and concerns of our customers. Over the past 10 years, my Midwestern background has allowed me to become a specialist in grain and livestock trading. The drought of 1988 coupled with the strong demand led grain rallies in 1995-96, has showed me the tremendous profit potential that can be attained, if one has good timing and sound money-managing principles. Tim Roth In this office, I am the "Crafty Veteran", which is simply the polite way of saying that I am the old guy on the block, with 25 years of futures trading experience. Notice, I didn’t say 25 years of option trading experience, because we did not have options trading when I started in the business. Needless to say, there is a lot I have seen over the past 25 years including $12.90 soybeans in 1973, $750 gold in 1980 and $5.00 corn in 1996. In addition, I have seen the beginnings of trading in many new markets including bonds, currencies and stock indexes to mention a few. The questions is, can all this experience be of any meaningful benefit to my clients and ITS as a whole. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, I started my commodities career with a firm that traded cash grain and futures with the export firm next door. I cut my teeth on fundamental training. Today, traders must have some technical expertise. In 1982, I took over the manager’s job at DLJ in Minneapolis. This experience was a big help in seeing a lot of things that got brokers and their clients in trouble. Sometimes that experience can be quite beneficial simply by avoiding the extremely risky situations, as well as seeking the potentially profitable trades. My dealings over the years with large commercial hedgers and small speculators, and all the accounts in between, have given me the ability to better understand the clients needs. We don’t pretend to understand all markets or all clients needs, but we have learned how to deal with most people and most markets with honesty, integrity, and good old fashioned hard work. My ultimate message to you, whether or not you choose ITS as your broker, can be summed up in one word - discipline.
